Artsy Fartsy Friday: Gracie's Sunflower

Gracie's Take: First, we writted a circle. Then we writted all sorts of dots in it. And then we writted petals, drawed them. Next, we took our hand and we dipped our hand in yellow paint, which I didn't like, and then we put it on the paper a couple of times. And then we cut it out. Then we put it up on the wall. Then we took it down to take it home.

Dad's Take: This week for Artsy Fartsy, Gracie brought me home a big old sunflower to talk about. It's so big and yellow you could almost mistake it for the sun. Maybe those petals are really beams of sunshine and those brownish colored dots are just sun flares. But she says it's a flower, so that's what we're going with. It sure looks like it's seen it's fair share of 2020. The petals are all bent and misshapen, and one's been chewed off. It can't even seem to hold it's color. What a mess. Maybe 2021 will treat it better.
