Adventures in Cheeseland: Day 4

Today was day four in Cheeseland. It didn't start out well. The power went out at the hotel overnight, causing us to wake up a little earlier than we were planning. Thankfully it did turn back on before we packed up the car to depart for our next location.

We started with a stop at the Dells Army Ducks in Wisconsin Dells. None of us had ever been on a duck boat ride, so we thought we'd give it a try.

This was our driver/stand-up comedian. He was in charge of driving the duck and getting the back two rows wet. Want to guess where we were sitting?

That's right, the second to last row. Despite the pandemic, they filled every seat in the duck. We were the only ones with masks on. The residents and guests of Wisconsin don't seem to believe in masks right now. It's a stark contrast to Michigan.

Part of the tour included the many rock formations along the Wisconsin River. I believe this one was called Elephant's Butt.

There were other vessels on the river, too. If you look real closely, you can see this boat's co-captain making a rowing motion, implying we were slow. She's not wrong, the duck only goes 3 mph, but on the other hand, it can drive on land, so I think it was a wash.

When the ride was over, we picked up some lunch at Moosejaw, a brewery and restaurant in Lake Delton. The kids got some antlers to wear while we waited for our food.

We drove around a little bit after lunch to see what had changed, then walked around downtown. We ended the excursion with a walk down the Riverwalk, but it was started to get pretty hot out.

So we moseyed on over to Portage and found our way to the Schultzes' house for the night.
