No Eggs Were Hurt in the Making of This Post
This morning, Augie took a break from his fast-paced schedule to hunt for a few candy-filled eggs with some of Gretchen's co-workers' kids in Stevensville.
The concept was simple: Find egg, put it in bucket, move two feet down the playground, push other kids out of way, pick up another egg, put in bucket, etc. Who am I kidding, Augie is too nice to push other kids out of the way ... he tripped them (much sneakier).
When all was said and done, Augie only had a half dozen eggs. I guess the other kids were meaner.
Candy break.
After nap, it was off to Grandma Steinke's house to dye a couple dozen eggs with cousin Mikey. Mom was in charge of filling the "spill-proof" containers with water.
She was skeptical of the spill-proof claim.
So she got her glove on before the dye was added to the containers.
Once the dye was added, the toughest decision was which color to do first.
Yellow it is. Bombs away!
Mikey chose the "purple."
Then came the hard part, the waiting.
Mom swirled them around a bit...
... and out came an egg. But wait. How did it get Augie's name on it?
Dad remembered his secret weapon, that's how.
After about an hour, the eggs were done, which meant...
... it was playtime. Grandma had the Jump-o-Lene inflated in the living room for the kids to play with.
They thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread.
Cheese!!!
