Artsy Fartsy Friday: Gracie's Flag
Gracie's Take: Mrs. Rabbers did the blue square. And we drawed dots on it, or stars. Thirty-six stars. Then we did, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 red stripes, and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 white ones, but that's actually just big paper. Then we did this long strip and glued it. Then we put it together and took pictures. And that is Gracie's American flag.
Dad's Take: I saw this one hanging on the fridge this week, and the first thing I did was count the stripes. I was surprised to find all 13 made it on there. She was a few stars short, but from the looks of things she just got bored of making circles. The first couple of rows are small and tightly packed. Then the stars got bigger and farther apart, and then she just gave up altogether and skipped the last couple of rows. Or maybe she was just too busy talking to her buddies to finish her stars in time. Come to think of it, that's probably more likely. She loves arts and crafts time.
