Crayon Pumpkins

We went over to Grandma Steinke's house after nap today to visit, and grandma decided Mikey and Augie were going to do a crayon pumpkin craft she found on the Internets. Elmer's wasn't doing the trick, so she pulled out the hot glue gun.

The project calls for melting the crayons with the sun, which is really stupid because the sun isn't nearly intense enough this time of the year.

I suggested a blow torch instead, but grandma settled on her embossing gun.

It wasn't as fast as a blow torch would have been, so Augie made grandma help hold it while he melted his crayons.

It looked pretty cool how the wax dripped down the side of the pumpkin.

It now resides on our porch with the other pumpkins, but I doubt all the wax will make it to Halloween. That's the thing about wax, when it cools, it becomes pretty brittle and easy to break off the pumpkin.
