Throwback Thursday: Let's Take A Ride

When I was younger, one of the most fun things to do was ride a bike around the triangle-shaped sidewalk in front of my grandma's house.

I wasn't the only one who enjoyed it, and there was good reason: It was the only smooth surface to ride a bike on. There was a very small patch of cement in front of our garage, but it definitely wasn't big enough to ride a bike around on. Everything else was dirt driveway, which was fun later in life, but not when you were trying to learn how to ride a bike.

We weren't lucky enough to have Power Wheels, even though our Econoline van was more than big enough to fit them in.

Gretchen, apparently, liked to share her wheels, whether that was with her toy doll ...

... or her toy younger sister.

And when she got tired of pedaling, she made someone else wheel her around. What a life.
