Artsy Fartsy Friday: Dueling Owls Edition
Gracie's Take: So we painted it white, first of all. There are some dots to see the snow. Then we drew the owl. Then we painted the owl purple. Then we putted the stars. Then the eyes. Then we did their feet. And then the hands. Then we did the space where he is standing. That's all.
Augie's Take: We made it off the internet. Someone else drew it on a YouTube video and we copied it. And then we added different colors than what she did. Mine looks like it was hit by a car. Look at it closely.
Dad's Take: Welcome to our very first Artsy Fartsy duel. Gretchen mentioned a few weeks back that both Augie and Gracie had drawn owls for art class. I just had to wait for them to come home. Augie's came home last week. Mrs. Rabbers held out on me for another week. Gracie's owl has well-defined ears, you can see that it has "hands" and feathers, and its sitting on a branch. Not standing, sitting, with it's feet hanging off the edge. I've dubbed it Cheshire Owl. Augie's owl does in fact appear as if it's been hit by a car. It's falling over, or laying on the ground, next to a road. The eyes are white and glassy. The only thing it's missing is tread marks on its chest. I've dubbed it Road Kill. Overall, I give them both an A+ for creativity and creative use of vibrant colors.
