Gracie's New Bed
Today was the day I finally got my garage back, which means today was the day that Gracie got her "new" bed.
According to her, it goes perfectly with her new Elsa and Anna comforter.
It's not perfect, but it's much more useful than it used to be. This is what we started with, one of the bunk beds from the Westerhoven farmhouse. It had drawers underneath it, which we thought would work well in Gracie's small room. They would give her more storage. However, we didn't have room to float the bed in the middle of her room so she could use the drawers as intended, one set on each side. So we thought we could stack them all on the same side.
As you can see, that caused oneminor major issue: If we stacked the drawers, then we had no support on the other side, and the legs wouldn't reach the ground. So, we bartered with our neighborhood woodworker to build a frame for the other side that matched the height of the stacked drawers, and we just chopped the legs off.
And, presto chang-o, Gracie has one "new" bed. It even matches her "new" dresser. If anyone's in need of most of a gallon of pink paint, let me know.
