Field Trip!
I unexpectedly had the day off today, so I was able to tag along on Augie's field trip to Mrs. Kubath's farm.
Augie's group started with the scavenger hunt, trying to find things like birds, clovers, spiderwebs and flowers.
Then it was off to the barn to check on the cows and give them a little grub. Oh yeah, Gracie came on the field trip with us, too.
She did not climb up into the hay loft with us, though.
Before too long, the first group came back from their hayride.
And then it was our turn for a ride. Gracie made herself a new friend.
Farmer Tom took us around to different parts of the farm to show us some of the scenes, like the grapes ...
... and the soy beans.
Gracie thought she knew all the answers to Farmer Tom's questions.
After our hayride, we were allowed to go and pick some grapes since Welch's had already come through and gathered what they wanted.
I'm not sure if any of the kids were actually going to eat them, but they sure loved picking them.
And then it was back to the farm ...
... for a farm-friendly snack.
