Grandma Visits ... With Gifts!

Today, Grandma and Grandpa Westerhoven, Aunt Lauren and Aunt Marcie came over for a big brunch and an early Christmas. As we discovered last year, having Christmas with one side of the family a week early works well. So we did it again this year.

Augie was so excited to open some presents (any presents) he offered to help hand them out.

But then he was all business. He was ready to open his gifts.

Since Aunt Marcie doesn't get to open most of her gifts (i.e. those from Grandma) until Christmas, she helped Augie open his gifts.

He got this cool Lightning McQueen game from grandma.

It went with his new "Kindle." It's actually a LeapFrog. Grandma bought it because Augie likes mom's Kindle Fire so much that she can't play it by herself anymore.

Roscoe got a present, too. It was treats. Can you tell?

Gretchen got some joint gifts with me (a microwave and a coffeemaker) and a couple of movies (Cinderella and Brave).

Aunt Lauren got movies, too.

The living room got pretty full. Roscoe was boxed in by all the boxes. The best gift, though, was left for me...

It's time to hunt some squirrels.

  1. Well, on the plus side - I'm glad we didn't pick up Cinderella for you then ;)

On the negative side - didn't think y'all had a blueray player. Which apparently you do... So you may have to upgrade your gift the hard way :( Sorry!! :(

Looks like everyone had a good day, though!

  2. We don't have a Bluray player. Gretchen says the Cinderella came with a DVD and a Bluray disk. I'd like to upgrade, but we don't really buy a lot of movies, so it's not worth it right now.
