Wedding Bells
Yesterday afternoon, we took Augie to the park. When he hears "park," he thinks he's going to go play on slides, swings and other playground equipment. Instead, we made him sit next to mom on a white folding chair.
Mom pretended like there wasn't any playground equipment at Jean Klock Park...
...because we were there for a wedding, not to play. This is our friend Beth.
She married our other friend Andy Mahler. It was a hot day for a wedding, but at least it was near the beach so the married men could wear shorts. (Not Andy Mahler, however). All the single guys wanted to look good, so they wore shirts, ties and pants. Some even wore suits.
Thankfully, the reception hall was air conditioned. Dinner hadn't even been served, and Augie knew he was going to be up past his bedtime.
There was a photo booth at the wedding. So Augie and I jumped in. He picked the big glasses for me, and a hard hat and pair of scissors for himself.
There was also cake at the wedding. Andy enjoyed it.
So did Beth.
It wasn't until after dinner that the fun began.
Augie ran circles around that dance floor until he dropped (or was knocked over).
And he danced with mom...
...who showed him how to twirl.
He thought about doing somersaults, but couldn't quite get his butt over his head without some help.
So he mostly just ended up on the ground.
