Christmas at Grandma W's

Saturday morning, Gretchen, Augie and I headed out in the snow to visit Grandma and Grandpa Westerhoven for an early Christmas brunch and gift opening. (Brunch will not be shown on this post because present opening is much more interesting than people eating). Here, Grandpa helps Augie open his first gift. I think it's PJs, although I can't say for sure what it really is.

Mom played Santa, so dad was in charge of taking pictures of people opening their gifts.

Augie had the most gifts by far, including this Build A Bear puppy (apparently they sell animals besides bears) with Cars pajamas on.

These two are the reason we had an early Christmas celebration. They are headed to Vegas for Lauren's birthday/Christmas.

Another of Augie's gift was a metal book with magnetic letters. Hopefully the letters don't mysteriously disappear like the ones that used to be on the fridge.

Look at sad Aunt Marcie. She opened the fewest gifts because she is saving her gifts for Christmas morning.

Luckily I didn't have to wait. This utility knife set goes great with my flannel shirt and mountain-man beard. Thanks, grandma.

Augie really loves his Cars.

When mom was done handing out gifts, she got to open hers.

She was super excited with her new Tetris game.

Augie really liked the game holders that looked like Legos. I have a feeling he will be commandeering them in the near future.

When we were done opening gifts, Augie wanted to sing along to the Christmas music playing on the TV.

He even recruited his own back-up singer.

Aunt Lauren really liked her new neck pillow. I'm sure she'll get much use out of it on the trip to Vegas.

When we got home, I assembled the one gift we didn't open at Grandma's (because then I would've had to assemble it at Grandma's). He hasn't left the driver's seat since.
