This morning, was Grace's first soccer game of the season. Here she is warming up before the game. Today, warming up had a very literal meaning. It was somewhere around 40 degrees at game time. So running around was needed to get warm.
Before she left this morning for the fields, I had her try to find her game face. She was struggling a bit, but I think she should go with No. 4.
Mom wasn't playing, so her warm-ups included having Augie sit on her lap under a blanket.
I'm not sure if the other team couldn't find the field or if they got held up with the photographer, but the game started about 30 minutes after listed start time.
Once things got going, there was a lot of running around after the ball.
Usually in pack form.
But the kids seemed to have fun ... for 15 minutes or so.
Then they started dropping like flies, heading for the sidelines or playing unofficial goalie. Hopefully things will warm up in time for her next game.
