Let's Take the Train to Chicago

It's been a busy summer, but Gretchen and I both had yesterday off. So we hopped on the South Shore with the kids to check out Shedd Aquarium. It was their first train ride. Can you see the excitement?

Gracie didn't have a camera, but she was ready to explore with her binoculars.

There were lots of fish to look at. Yellow ones ...

... common ones ...

... even vicious, swarming ones.

Not everything was behind glass. You could go outside and touch the stingrays. If you could get them to come close enough to you, that is.

Gracie was more interested in touching all the tablets at each display that gave you more information on the creatures you were seeing.

Augie was a fan, too.

We managed to pull them away long enough to check out the demo submarine.

Periscope included.

Before we checked out, we made the kids sit still for like 30 whole minutes for the dolphin show.

See, dolphins.
