Christmas Comes Early

Yesterday was our annual early Christmas with the Westerhoven side of the family. There were a few presents to open after brunch.

There were lots of bags, which made our little bag lady a happy camper.

Augie got a self defense unit to protect himself from bag-carrying terrorists.

Gracie pretty much forgot about the rest of her presents when she discovered these M&Ms in one of her presents.

Cousin Ryan got some cool toys, too. These guitar was pretty sweet.

Mom commandeered Gracie's new hat while she helped her unearth all her new clothes.

Augie got a hat with glasses, because he has glasses.

Don't worry, Ryan got a hat, too.

Gracie made sure her clothes bag was empty ...

... but she sat on grandma's present until mom confirmed that it was in fact empty.

I know they're the same height, but Gracie is older, which made her in charge of finding trouble for Ryan ...

... and herself.

Gracie was playing Duplos with Aunt Marcie, but she left when Aunt Marcie said she was doing it wrong.

Augie needed help with his new self defense unit, so I was happy to show him how it worked. I said "run" and gave him a free demonstration. I'm such a good dad.

When everyone was presented out, mom put them to work decorating cookies.

I was Chief in Charge of Eating Broken Cookies, but Gracie said she'd help me, which meant I could take a few more pictures.
