Happy Birthday (Party)!

Today, we celebrated Gracie's first birthday with a party. But first, here's a picture from her actual birthday. She really liked the cupcake grandma Westerhoven brought her. I heard no one was allowed to touch it but her.

For the party, we went with a Minnie Mouse theme. See, there's Minnie now.

The cake lady did a pretty good job of making Minnie on the cake. (Don't worry this post won't be as much about cake as Augie's birthday post. Probably.)

Gracie got a whole cake for herself.

Before the party, I quick finished up Gracie's picture frame so everyone could enjoy her first year of life. It looks good next to Augie's.

Gracie was pretty weepy when we got to the party. It was either because she didn't nap well, or she saw the cake and was made she couldn't have it right away. But grandma was OK, I guess.

Mikey was gracious enough to come to the party for a bit and play with everyone. Today was actually his birthday, so we felt kind of bad having Gracie's party, but today was the day that seemed to work for everyone. He really wasn't mad at us, he was just giving me his best Hulk face.

I'm not sure Ryan liked the party decorations. But we thought they were funny.

Before cake, it was time for presents.

Gracie started by helping mom.

And she got some cool presents.

But she got bored quickly.

She started drifting toward the toys that were already opened.

Mom tried to get her to help, but she was pretty busy that day.

The crowd was still riveted by the present opening.

Some of them even offered to help mom finish.

Gracie didn't mind.

Because she knew cake time was next.

Gracie thought blowing out the candle was for sissies. She was going to put it out the manly way.

And then it was cake time.

She destroyed that thing.

Which meant, she needed some heavy-duty cleanup.
