Christmas in March
It was three months late, but Augie finally got to see Aunt Jen, Uncle Luke and Nate and Nora for Christmas yesterday. It also happened to be a belated birthday for Augie and an early birthday for Nora. We killed a lot of birds with one stone.
Nate and Nora needed Gretchen to read them a book when she got there.
Augie needed to rip the book apart.
When mom wouldn't let him rip the book apart, he went and found Uncle Luke.
Perhaps that wasn't such a good idea....
...because it seems it made Augie a little crazy.
Meanwhile, Nate found the need to show me his water bottle, which didn't even have water in it.
And then Augie found the Mr. Potato Head parts.
When Uncle Luke went to take some babysitting kids home, Nate wanted to work on a puzzle. Obviously the effort was a little uncoordinated.
Shortly after Uncle Luke got home, Aunt Jen was home, which meant TIME FOR PRESENTS!
Nate was happy with his new cutable apple pie set.
And Nora loved her Cabbage Patch baby.
Gretchen checked to make sure it still had that new baby smell.
Nora also got her birthday present, which included a new dress and pants...
...and a, hey, that's not yours, Augie. And a coloring book with markers that only work on the book.
Augie got some presents, too. I wonder what it's going to be.
It was a tractor and trailer and a Lightning McQueen car. The car was neat because if you shake it up, then set it down, it will drive away.
To celebrate the kids went and played a tune on the keyboard.
Nora insisted on wearing her new outfit to church yesterday and sleeps with the doll. She insisted that I hold the "baby" for her this morning so she could eat.
