Pine Car Derby 2018

Today, was finally the day. The day for Augie's second pine car derby. As you might remember, last year we went with a race car design. This year, we went with the race truck.

There were a lot of really cool car designs this year. There was a shark, a dumbbell, a truck that looked like it had a professional paint job, a violin, a Hershey's bar, a Cubs hot rod and more.

All were vying for a taste of gold.

Some of Augie's biggest fans came to watch the races. Grandpa was there, too, but he sat where he could get a better view.

Mr. Abele got things started for us this year ...

... and we were off to the races!

Gracie thought the races were taking too long.

In fact, I think she was melting.

Lucky for us, she's powered by popcorn.

There were no trophies in Augie's fortunes this year (not even the Turtle Award), but fun was had by all.
