Augie's Smile

At times, someone besides me will get a picture of Augie, and I'll tell them, "Oh, he gave you his fake smile." They just see that he smiled. I see that his heart wasn't in it. Here's what I mean. At left, is Augie's fake smile. He's smiling, but he's not convinced of his happiness. At right is his real smile. See the difference? His eyes wrinkle. His smile broadens. There's laughter in his smile. There's a difference. Trust me, I should know. I've taken thousands of pictures of him. And if you're getting the fake smile out of him, don't feel bad. It's getting harder to get the real smile. He's growing up.
