Happy Fourth of July
Today was the Fourth of July, which meant we needed to go see a parade.
And the villagers rejoiced!
There were plenty of floats ...
... and law enforcement personnel ...
... and whatever this is ...
... and fire trucks.
After nap, we had the families over to the house for some food and fun. It was moderately warm today, so the kids hopped in the pool before dinner.
Of course, Gracie wasn't happy unless she was throwing stuff out of the pool.
Once Gracie was in bed, we pulled out the sparklers for Augie to play with. Mom showed him how they worked.
He was a little skiddish at first ...
... but it didn't take him long to get the hang of it.
It's not the Fourth of July without a fireworks show. We headed back to Eau Claire because the show is usually pretty good, and the traffic isn't insane like in St. Joe. Here are a few of the highlights.
Get it? Highlights?
I crack myself up.
There were a few low lights, too. Happy Fourth of July!
