Grandpa's Goodbye

If you haven't heard by now, and I would be surprised if you hadn't with word traveling around Facebook, Augie and Gracie's grandpa died yesterday morning.

I had just gotten to work when my mom called me to say my dad had stayed home from work Tuesday not feeling well. When she got home from work, he was sitting in his chair in front of the TV next to his coffee cup. That's really as much as we know right now. We aren't sure how he died -- although heart attacks are common in the family -- but it appears he went peacefully. And really that's the most you can ask for, isn't it?

As for final arrangements, the visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Starks in St. Joseph for anybody who wants to stop by. The funeral is at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's in Sodus. His full obituary can be found here, it also will be in tomorrow's H-P.
