Augie (while putting his pajamas on): Where did daddy go?
Me: He's at work making money, just like mommy went to work today to make money. We go to work to make money to buy you things; like books and pajamas and food. . .
Augie: I like food! I like to eat!
Me: I know you do and that's why mommy and daddy hafta work.
Augie (while putting his pajamas on): Where did daddy go?
