It's only a couple of weeks until pine car derby time, so we are working hard to get Augie's truck ready to go. I got a base coat of red paint on it last weekend, and tonight Augie put some numbers in the bed.
After I helped him flush out the numbers and paint on some windows, mom got to work on the flames. That's right, flames. There won't be any Turtle Awards coming home this year. We are going for gold.
Gracie offered to help, too, but I've seen her paint. We would have had flames on the table instead of the truck. Maybe next year, Gracie.
A couple of clear coats tomorrow and we'll be ready to slap on some wheels and weights. Stay tuned for more pics from the derby ... I'm the unofficial official photographer this year.
