Artsy Fartsy Friday: Tiger Stripes
Augie's Take: Tigers have striped bodies. And they are orange animals. And they have black stripes. And we made it with paper and glue, and orange paper. We ripped the stripes, so we could put them on better.
Dad's Take: On the surface, this artwork looks like strips of tattered black paper glued to an orange piece of construction paper. I'm glad Mrs. Treder wrote on the sheet "Tiger Stripes," or I'm not sure I would have guessed what it was supposed to be. I don't know if all the kids ripped their stripes, but I hope they did. It makes much more sense than straight, perfectly-cut stripes. Tigers stripes aren't perfectly straight. They are rough and jaggedy like these strips of paper.
