Party!!!!!

This afternoon, we had the grandmas and grandpas over for Augie's third birthday party. His birthday is  Monday, but no one has a birthday party on a Monday, so we did it today. As you can see, we had a big cake. For some reason mom thought we needed a huge cake for 10 people.

She waited until this afternoon to do the final decorating. It was her first attempt at using a pastry bag.

It turned out pretty good ... except for the red being more pink than red. Red food dye never turns out red. It really is false advertising.

As you can see, this year's theme was Cars. We even had a tipped tractor.

I got the leftover frosting.

Flash forward to tonight and the presents. Augie got lots of fun toys ... and some clothes, too.

Mom helped Augie open most of the presents, but Aunt Lauren helped him open this one.

He really liked it. It distracted him from the rest of his presents.

Someone gave Augie more plates and forks and such for his kitchen collection.

We might have to build a second kitchen just to house all of his kitchen stuff.

Augie, are you ready for some cake? Hmmmm.....

Yep.

He ate more ice cream than cake, though. And every time he took a bite, he threw his hands in the air and shook like he was possessed because it was so cold.

When Augie was done with his ice cream, I noticed part of his fork was missing. I asked him where his fork was. Not worried, he smiled and said, "In my mouth." There wasn't anything in his mouth. At least not anymore.

Another successful birthday party in the books.
