Happy Halloween

This year for Halloween, Augie went trick-or-treating as Lightning McQueen, his favorite movie character.

His first stop was The Herald-Palladium. I told my co-workers I would bring him by so they could see his costume. He left with a bucket of food, change and a toy car. He really liked the Lightning McQueen fruit snacks. It's almost as if someone knew beforehand he liked fruit snacks and was coming as Lightning McQueen.

Then it was off to grandma and grandpa's house for a quick visit. First, grandpa had to inspect Augie's bucket of candy for anything that might be "unfit" for Augie to eat.

But it was OK, because grandma refilled his bucket.

And he was super psyched.

Before dinner, Augie and I made a lap around the neighborhood and collected a little more candy. Not that we had too because Grandma Westerhoven came over with more candy for him.

In other news, the trick-or-treaters really liked the Angry Bird carvings.
