Fair week!

I know it's been two weeks, but Augie is back. I honestly haven't taken many photos since moving into the new house (too much other stuff to do), but now he is back, because it is fair week. Gretchen and I took him out to the fairgrounds Thursday morning before it got too hot or too crowded. We quickly found out, however, that not much is open at the fair at 9:30 a.m. The commercial buildings were closed, the rides weren't running yet, the food vendors were nowhere to be found, and only some of the animal buildings were operating. So we started off the day with a walk down tractor alley.

Augie liked the tractors, especially this blue one. He was ready to go plow some dirt.

He liked the 4x4, too.

And he really liked the lawnmowers. He always watches me mow, and I think he'd like to come help, but he's still a little too small. Maybe next year.

But the one thing he didn't like was this big tire. He just wouldn't go sit in it with mom.

When we were done with the tractors, mom just had to get her fair lemonade. Augie was happy to help her out.

After our little break, we made it over to the wonders of birth building, which finally opened. Augie was less than impressed by the chicks.

He was a little more excited by the calf.

Eventually we had to go home (2 hours after we got there), because Augie was tired. He didn't even bother taking the cup out of his mouth before he fell asleep.
