Happy Halloween
Before we get to pictures of Augie in his Halloween outfits, we have to start with a few pictures of Augie with grandma and grandpa Steinke and cousin Mikey because they came to see Augie before Halloween. Augie is wearing his favorite Halloween shirt, though, so the pictures are still Halloweeny.
Cousin Mikey found Augie's play phone (aka mom's old cell phone) and wouldn't let it go.
He thought it was his phone.
He thought it was his phone.
When he wasn't buggin' Mikey, Augie went for a walk with grandma through toyland...
...and made grandpa laugh.
But enough about grandma and grandpa. On to the Halloween pictures. Augie dressed up as a cowboy on Friday and Sunday. Actually, he got a sheriff's star with his hat and bandanna, so he was really more of a sheriff, but I still called him a cowboy.
On Friday, Augie came to my office in this outfit so all the ladies could fawn over him and his cuteness. You can't see it in the picture, but there is a boot, hat and lasso on the pant leg. He looked pretty awesome, but that hat wouldn't stay on. Neither would the boots. The smallest size they make was still too big for his foot.
On Sunday, on Halloween, Augie went trick or treating with pastor's three kids because dad had to work and mom didn't want to take Augie by herself. This cowboy outfit includes a red flannel shirt and a string for his hat so it wouldn't fall off so much.
Mom and dad got to keep most of Augie's candy, but he was given a victory sucker on the car ride home. Someone, who will remain unnamed, put an unsavory hat on Augie's head while I wasn't there, so I changed it into a Bears hat for Augie's safety.
When Augie got home, he tried to ride off into the sunset with his bag of goodies...
...but apparently somebody poisoned the water hole. (Gretchen told me to write that, she thinks it's funny).
Is there ANY explanation for the kid wearing gloves on his FEET? Is this some strange Michigan tradition?
ReplyDeleteand yes, somebody poisoned the waterhole IS funny!
Apparently his boots kept falling off and he needed something on his feet. We'd have to ask mom, she did it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a Woody line from Toy Story. So if Augie was a cowboy and a sheriff - it fits :) Yea!
ReplyDeleteCuteness!
Gretchen IS funny, or at least I laughed at that comment. I've watched Toy Story a time or two myself. :D
ReplyDeleteHate to tell you, Andy, but Gretchen has ALWAYS been the funny one.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU! Most especially, Emily b/c she finally burst my husband's bubble :-D. Oh, and as for the hat, it was a Green Bay Packers hat from Pastor (it really wasn't anything dirty) and he was the one who came up with the gloves (he is from WI). It worked pretty well though, b/c his feet were cold.
ReplyDeleteGretchen has not always been the funny one, but since she thinks so I'll let her write the Christmas letter this year.
ReplyDeleteoh no, I would NEVER take the Christmas Letter from you. I know how much you enjoy it.
